Introduction
In this workshop, participants explored a more intentional and structured way of setting and achieving goals.
Yen Dang introduced her Growth Framework, which is also the foundation of her app Idee Val. The framework is designed to help track goals and build habits that actually stick over time.
💡 Key insights
- Writing down your goals regularly makes you 42% more likely to achieve them
- Consistently tracking and reflecting can increase success rates by up to 70%
The Growth Framework
1. Goal — What do you want to achieve?
Start by clearly defining your goal. This could be:
- A project you want to complete
- A skill you want to develop
- An experience you want to have
Clarity at this stage sets the direction for everything that follows.
2. Identity — Who do you need to become?
This step focuses on your future self, the version of you who has already achieved the goal.
Ask yourself:
- What kind of person achieves this goal?
- What habits, mindset, or behaviors do they have?
💡 Key insight
When your identity aligns with your goal, motivation becomes more natural. This concept is known as identity based motivation, where actions follow the way we see ourselves.
3. Reflection — Learn and adjust
Reflection connects your past, present, and future.
Consider:
- What has worked or not worked in the past?
- What is your current situation?
- What needs to change moving forward?
This step allows you to:
- Adjust your goals or expectations
- Reframe setbacks
- Stay flexible and realistic
4. Action — Small steps, consistently
Goals are achieved through consistent action, not perfection.
Focus on:
- Daily or weekly habits
- Small and repeatable steps
- Building discipline over time
💡 Remember
Better done than perfect.
Progress may feel slow, but consistency builds momentum.

Visualizing Your Goals
The Digital Collage
As a final exercise, participants were encouraged to create a digital collage using tools such as Canva or Pinterest.
The collage can include:
- Goals and aspirations
- Feelings and experiences
- Challenges and obstacles
- People or support systems
- Visual elements that represent identity and action
It serves as a visual anchor that helps you stay connected to your goals and reflect on your progress.
